I bought this for my 6 yr old son who has high functioning autism. No book is right for everyone, but this is one of those small delights that certainly comes close. It provides a great introduction to the various aspects of life in the Middle Ages with a wonderful balance between text and visually arresting photographs that had my students keen to discover more about the period. James Meek has written a marvelous story-telling in this novel. That means, an original copy had been photocopied to produce this version.
